The
current Internally Displaced Persons project of Caritas Switzerland is funded
till the end of August 2009. Since the situation in the affected District (Mardan
District, NWFP, Pakistan) has not
improved over the last months and the provision of food items for the displaced
families remains vital, Caritas Switzerland is following up with an additional
response. This new response will continue to provide complementary food aid for
the 2,600 beneficiaries of the ongoing emergency project for an additional period
of two months till October 2009. The project will distribute a total of 416
tonnes of wheat flour, 42 tonnes of pulses, 26 tonnes of oil, 21 tonnes of sugar,
5 tonnes of salt and 2 tonnes of tea.
