Mennonite Central Committee Canada is supporting Help Channel Burundi with a one year project to alleviate hunger in areas of food insecurity. The project seeks to contribute to four outcomes: the alleviation of hunger; environmental restoration; enhancement of food sovereignty; and the meaningful participation of stakeholders in effective planning, management, monitoring, and evaluation of the project. 4,000 households in the provinces of Kirundo, Rutana and Makamba will receive food for work, utilizing 411 tonnes of maize and 206 tonnes of beans, as participants in reforestation activities.
