People to People

People-to-People connects overseas partners with Canadian farmers, donors and volunteers.
Once they are in Canada, visitors learn more about life and farming by touring area growing projects and meeting people. They often make themselves available to speak in local churches. Foodgrains Bank supporters hear first hand, the difference their contributions make.
Canadian volunteers and study tour participants also share their experiences as they talk about the sense of world community they gain as a result of their work with the Foodgrains Bank.

Arun Kumar Naik - India (PRAIRIE Region, November 2011)
Arun is from Motihari, in the Indian state of Bihar, where he work on right to food projects with EFICOR (Evangelical Fellowship of India Commission on Relief), a partner of World Relief Canada.
He manages food security programs that are supported by funding through Canadian Foodgrains Bank. One of these projects was focused on the right to food, which encourages people (often through help from local churches) to raise awareness of the right to access government programs designed to promote food security and combat hunger for tribal or secluded caste communities.
Arun will be speaking at the Fall Information Meetings in November in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. For more information about local dates for this visit, check our events page or contact Terence Barg (Alberta) alberta@foodgrainsbank.ca, Dave Meier (Saskatchewan) d.emeier@sasktel.net, and Harold Penner (Manitoba) harold@rockyrise.ca.
