Keke Phooko - IVEP Intern

Lieketseng (Keke) Phooko is an intern from Lesotho serving at Canadian Foodgrains Bank until July 2012.

She has a diploma in Forestry and Natural Resource Management from the Lesotho Agricultural College.

In Lesotho, she participated in a year long course on Conservation Agriculture, a method of small-scale farming that is increasing yields in drought-ridden areas using simple, easily accessible tools. She has been teaching this method to farmers in this region and helping them to become self-sufficient once again.

Listen to Keke explain how she is making a difference through conservation agriculture in a short video by clicking here.

Over the next year, Keke will be available to speak to groups across Canada.
