Closing Litany: Broken for the World

One:    Jesus took bread and broke it,
gave it to his disciples and said,
‘This is my body, given for you.
All:    Jesus, the bread of life,
    broken for the world.

One:    Jesus said,
“I am the bread come down from heaven.”
All:    May we who break this bread and eat it
share its life with the world.

One:      Jesus said,
“I commission you to be my disciples,
    to go and bear fruit,
    fruit that will endure.”
All:     May we be bread broken for the world,
giving our lives and sacrifices of love,
giving of ourselves so that others might live.

One:    And may God bless us,
All:    the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
One:    And until we meet again,
All:    may God hold us in the palm of his hand.  Amen.
