Call to Worship Litany
(based on Joel 2:12-14)
One: Yet even now, says the Lord,
return to me with all your heart
with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning;
Two: for all the children whose intellect was robbed
because of a lack of protein,
Three: for all the mothers wasting away
because they don’t get enough to sustain them
and the milk for their baby,
Two: for all the blind who didn’t get enough vitamin A.
Three: Rend your hearts and not your clothing.
Return to the Lord, your God,
who is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
One: Spare your people, O Lord.
