What can Canadians do to ensure our food system moves in a direction that is fair, just, and sustainable?

Finding answers to that question was one of the goals of the first-ever Canadian Foodgrains Bank Atlantic Food Justice Camp, held June 23-25 in Oxford, Nova Scotia.

During the camp, 27 participants of varying ages, denominations, occupations and places throughout the Maritimes came together to learn and reflect on issues of food, faith, and hunger.

In addition to brainstorming ways to make the food system more fair on personal and societal levels, participants visited local farms, fisheries, markets, and food banks to learn from those directly involved in various aspects of the food system.

Participants also ate local food, baked bread and worshiped together.
